Release Date: May 27, 2024

Hey everyone,

In this update, we introduced the Overdue status for programs and addressed one of the pain points that our organization users have mentioned on their Secuna Platform feedback.

With this update, organizations are expected to become more proactive and efficient in completing their tasks in a program.

Aside from those, we also implemented some other major and minor enhancements and bugfixes throughout the Secuna Platform. Continue reading for more information.

👉 The New Way to Navigate to a Program

Previously, navigating to a program is non-intuitive to our users because it involves taking an outdated additional action. It typically goes like this before:

(1) Users navigate to their programs page. (2) Users look for the program they want to view. (3) Users click on the carioca menu under the actions column of the program. (4) Users select on the view program.

The 3rd step is a bit unnecessary since for most users, there are no other options aside from viewing the program. We decided to remove this step and simply allow users to just click on the program directly to view the program. We also added some interaction designs such as an on-hover behavior on programs to make it more intuitive for users that they can interact on a particular item in the programs page.

🗂️ Reorganized Programs Page View

In our previous design of the programs page, all programs are shown together, regardless if the user is a member of the program or not. This resulted to confusion for users because it gave them the impression that all the programs that they see are already accessible to them, causing frustration when they find out that a program may in fact be inaccessible to them. There is also no way in telling apart which programs they belong to and which programs they do not belong to.

In this updated, we reorganized the programs in such a way that users can easily distinguish programs that they are already a part of from programs that they are not a part of by introducing the Joined and Other Programs tab.

For Organization Owners and Admins, who have the ability to create drafts from Pentest Scoping Questionnaires, a separate Drafts tab was also added to make it easier for them to continue and complete their drafts.

In the Other Programs tab, we also added a way for users to know who are the owner and admins of a program so they would easily know who they should communicate with to request for access to a program.

đź”´ Program Overdue Status

We added a new status called Overdue for Secuna Pentest programs. This status indicates that a Secuna Pentest program’s Retesting Phase is already finished but the program cannot be marked as completed (Ended status) yet since there are still pending items that an organization needs to remediate and resolve first.

This would allow organizations to put more attention on their pending items from a program tagged as Overdue and avoid incurring penalties for extending the duration of their project.

🗓️ Detailed Pentest Progress and Schedule

The Pentest Progress card in the program overview for Secuna Pentest Programs is now more informative, fully detailing the schedule for the testing and retesting period, as well as when the engagement was concluded. This would allow organizations to keep better track on where we’re at in our Secuna Pentest engagement.
